Hello and welcome! Parhelion Literary Magazine is an online literary arts publication created by Elizabeth Varel and Darren Morris, two graduates of the Virginia Commonwealth University MFA program. Since PLM’s inception in early 2018, we’ve added three more (amazing, awesome, brilliant) editors to our staff and continue to grow at a rapid pace, thanks to your support.
Parhelion publishes four times a year during January, April, July, and October. For writers who wish to submit, we seek fiction, nonfiction, and poetry submissions by both emerging and known authors. We look for strong, fresh voices, compelling characters, and thought-provoking story telling. We also look for that emotional connection—pieces that move us, whether we’re simultaneously experiencing the greatest of joys or the deepest of grief.
Parhelion also features photography and illustration with each issue.
We are accepting submissions for the January 2019 issue from November 1 to November 30. Submissions received after that will be considered for our April 2019 issue.
PLM looks forward to working with writers and artists, and to delighting our site visitors with some of the best creative work on the web.
